The fallout from the Shedeur Sandersโ saga continues to unfold around the NFL.
After the league fined the Atlanta Falcons $250,000 and their defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich $100,000, ESPNโs Adam Schefter was informed by Drew Rosenhaus, agent for former Penn State and new New York Giants defensive end Abdul Carter, that Carter was pranked as well.
According to Rosenhaus, as news was breaking of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns trade where Jacksonville moved up to No. 2, a phone call came in but according to Rosenhaus it didnโt add up.ย
“It’s unfortunate that these private numbers are getting to the people making the prank calls,” Rosenhaus told Schefter. “Abdul and I knew it was B.S. and didn’t even tell his family about the call.”
Jacksonville eventually selected former Colorado ย receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter with the No. 2 overall pick.
Although Carter didnโt have to wait long to be drafted, he joined his former teammate Tyler Warren of the Indianapolis Colts to have been prank called. Carter and Warren, along with Sanders werenโt alone in the matter. Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Mason Graham, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kyle McCord, and Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Chase Lundt were also pranked called.
The NFL is continuing its investigation into the information breaches of the personal telephone numbers and other potential sources of the prank calls.
