Penn State football fans who were looking forward to watching the annual Blue-White game on TV are out of luck this year.
The annual spring game, which is usually broadcast on the Big Ten Network, won’t be on TV this year, Penn State coach James Franklin confirmed at his pre-Spring Practice press conference Tuesday afternoon.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Some schools aren’t having a spring game at all.
Schools such as Ohio State and Texas have announced that they’re leaving the traditional spring game format for now. Penn State isn’t going that far. The game is still scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at a revamped Beaver Stadium.
WHAT JAMES SAID

Here’s what Franklin said about how this year’s game will look different.
“There’s some things that we will not do,” Franklin said. “The game will not be televised, for some of the reasons we’ve already discussed, and you’ve heard other coaches maybe talk about. We will have a spring game, probably more similar to what we’ve had in the past, at least right now. As we go through these 15 days, that could change, but I could see it being maybe a little bit shorter.
“One of the things that I don’t think we’ll do is a half time, because there’s been years where we’ll have 75,000 people out there, would go to half time for 20 minutes, and the parking lot becomes more attractive than the second half and the tailgating. So probably we’ll condense it down a little bit, maybe a little bit shorter quarters, maybe no halftime, you know.”
WHAT ABOUT THE PRESS BOX?

When will the new Beaver Stadium press box be ready?
In the meantime, who knows where the likes of me will sit?
We’ll see what happens that and all things related to Penn State football.
