University Parkโย There was concern in Indianapolis last month when it was reported that Penn State DE Abdul Carter had a stress fracture in his right foot.
The good news is that, for Carter, the injury is more or less a non-issue.
Carter talked about his health after Penn Stateโs annual Pro Day Friday morning in Holuba Hall.

Hereโs what Carter had to say about his injury.
โI found out about it when they found out about it. I donโt have any symptoms, any pain. It doesnโt bother me now. So whatever they feel necessary for it, I donโt feel any pain right now. No surgery or anything like that. But I found out when they found out about it.โ

Going back a bit, hereโs everything we know about the injury.
Multiple reports the Wednesday night of the combine indicated Carter has a stress reaction in his right foot that may require surgery.
Carterโs agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN โthere are mixed opinionsโ on whether Carter requires surgery. One day later, the outlook appears much better for the 21-year-old defensive end.
Adam Schefter and ESPN updated their report Thursday morning and wrote that, after undergoing further evaluations, doctors told Carter surgery is not advisable.
โI couldnโt be more confident that this will be a non-factor where heโs drafted,โ Rosenhaus told the media.
This lines up with what Carter said Friday.
The 2025 NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 24 at 8 p.m. in Green Bay. Carter plans on being there in person.
