Penn State is losing a member of its staff.
Nittany Sports Now can confirm what was initially reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, which is that Khalil Ahmad, who had been Penn State’s recruiting coordinator for personnel and recruitment, is being hired by Temple.
Zenitz will be working at Temple in a “high ranking front office capacity,” per Zenitz.
In this era of college football where Name, Image and Likeness is paramount, positions such as “general manager” are no longer exclusive to professional sports. It’s not clear yet if that will be Ahmad’s exact title but it’s clear that he’ll play a big role in the future of Temple football.
Nittany Sports Now can confirm that he’ll be working in a “GM-type capacity.”
At Penn State, Ahmad played a big role in recruiting the state of New Jersey. Perhaps the biggest recruit he played a big role in landing was Malachi Goodman, a five-star OL from the Class of 2025.
Goodman, the pride of New Jersey’s Paramus High School, is the No. 19 overall player in the nation per 247, as well as the No. 5 OT in the country and the No. 1 overall player in New Jersey.
