Miami, Florida— Teams don’t have to release injury reports for the College Football Playoff but Notre Dame chose to release theirs ahead of its Orange Bowl/College Football Playoff Semifinal with Penn State.
The big injury story for Notre Dame is the health of its best offensive player, RB Jeremiyah Love.
Love, who has 1,076 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 7.3 yards per carry, has been battling an apparent knee injury.
But all indications have been that he’ll be good to go against Penn State and the injury report confirmed that, indeed, he will be. How effective he’ll be is another question, as injuries always complicate matters.
Coach Marcus Freeman seems confident.
“He’s had a good week of practice. We have to be smart about how much we’re asking him to do in practice. No one is 100-percent right now. He’ll be good to go,” Freeman said Tuesday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 on ESPN.
