Abdul Carter Posts Another Cryptic Message

The health of Penn State DE Abdul Carter is a big storyline going into Penn State-Notre Dame Thursday, Jan. 9.

Miami, Florida— One of the big questions heading into Thursday’s Orange Bowl/College Football Playoff semifinal between Penn State and Notre Dame is: Will Abdul play?

Abdul, of course, is Abdul Carter, who’s only, oh, arguably college football’s best defensive player.

The fact is, we might not know Carter’s status until close to kickoff.

But in the meantime, Carter is intriguing, entertaining and, possibly, confusing people with his social media posts.

Carter turned his X (formerly Twitter) profile picture into that of Darth Vader. He’s posted multiple pictures of who Darth Varder used to be— Anakin Skywalker— being inside a pod, used to repair his body after being burned alive at the end of Episode III. The caption of Carter’s post read: “Revenge of the ST1X,” which is a play on “revenge of the sith.” So it’s clear that Carter is Darth Vader.
