Penn State is down one wide receiver from the positional room as PSU prepares for Purdue.
Dylan Callaghan Croley of Rivals.com reported Wednesday that walk-on receiver Feyisayo Oluleye is no longer a member of Penn State. No explanation was given as to why Oluleye is off the team’s roster.
A 6-foot-1, 205-pound pass catcher from Lancaster, PA, Oluleye transferred to PSU before the 2023 season. He did not appear in any of Penn State’s 13 games last year or the first nine this go-around.
Oluleye began his collegiate career at Robert Morris, 20 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, where he saw limited action. He didn’t see the field in 2020 and redshirted the 2021 campaign. Oluleye caught four passes for 57 yards in five games at RMU during the 2022 season.
A former quarterback and wide receiver at Bishop McDevitt High School, Oluleye completed 20 of his 36 passes for 383 yards and three touchdowns.
The news arrived days after reports indicated, and James Franklin confirmed on Monday, that defensive lineman Hakeem Beamon was no longer a part of the program.
Penn State plays at Purdue on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CBS will broadcast a Nittany Lions game for the second time after a 33-30 overtime thriller at USC on Oct. 12.
