Penn State and Indiana won’t be playing for weeks if they ever play this season but who’s to say there can’t be betting odds?
The two teams are projected to face off in the first round based on the current College Football Playoff rankings. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Penn State would be a 9.5-point favorite.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Although Penn State and Indiana have the same 10-1 record, many still doubt the Hoosiers because they don’t have a ranked win and lost by 23 in their first big test at Ohio State this past Saturday. Penn State, on the other hand, beat No. 23 Illinois 21-7 in a game that wasn’t that close and only lost to Ohio State by seven. Playing at home also would give Penn State an advantage in the land of odds.

Penn State’s projected opponent is none other than the school that fired PSU’s current defensive coordinator last season. Curt Cignetti replaced Tom Allen and has started 10-1.
Shortly after he got the IU job, Cignetti commented that “Purdue sucks, but so does Ohio State.”

Penn State’s offense would come up short on 4th down in their eventual loss to Ohio State.
FanDuel has other spreads for projected playoff matchups. Fifth-seeded Ohio State would be a massive 21-point favorite over Arizona State. No. 7 Dame would be a 10-point favorite over No. 10 SMU, and in an another all-conference matchup, No. 8 Georgia would be an 8.5-point favorite in a rematch with No. 9 Tennessee.
