Penn State Report: Highly-Anticipated Debut of Freshman Will Have to Wait

Penn State will be without its top recruit in the class of 2024, Miles Goodman, and sophomore transfer Eli Rice Friday night.

Goodman was the 84th-ranked player and 12th-ranked center in the class of 2024, per 247Sports. In 247Sportsโ€™ Composite, the only Nittany Lion recruit with a higher rating than Goodman (.0946) was Tony Carr (.9746) in 2016.

Rice meanwhile, is a sophomore transfer from Big Ten rival Nebraska. As a freshman, Rice was one of six freshmen nationally to attempt at least 58 percent of his shots from 3, shoot at least 37 percent from deep and have a defensive rebound percentage of 13.5 percent.

Penn State is set to host the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Friday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 on the Big Ten Network.
