We’re at the start of Penn State football season but we have some Penn State basketball news to tell you about.

CBS Sports Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein reports that the one of Penn State’s conference games will be played at a neutral site and will count as one of Penn State’s 10 Big Ten home games.

Per Rothstein, the Penn State/Indiana basketball game on January 5, 2025, will be played at The Palestra in Philadelphia. This should be made official when the Big Ten Conference releases its full conference schedule in the near future.

The Palestra, which is referred to as The Cathedral of College Basketball, first opened in 1927. Currently, it serves as the home of the University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s basketball, along with their volleyball and wrestling teams.

The Palestra, which is known for its close to-the-court seating with the bleachers ending at the floor with no barrier to separate the fans from the game, currently seats 8,725 fans.

This game against Indiana will be Penn State basketball’s second game in Philadelphia this season. During its non-conference schedule, the Nittany Lions have a game on December 21st at the Wells Fargo Center against Drexel.

Here is Penn State’s complete non-conference schedule:
