University Park– Jordan Burroughs has been beaten, and it was a Penn State wrestling legend who did it.

Jason Nolf, a three-time national champ at Penn State who’s gone on to win six gold medals in Freestyle, upset the six-time world champ and 2012 gold medalist, 3-0 in the challenge tournament finals.

Nolf got his first point in the first period and added two more at the beginning of the second.

He never allowed Burroughs to score.

For Nolf, it’s a monumental win. He’ll now get to take on fellow NLWC member Kyle Dake in a best-of-three series Saturday for a chance to go to Paris and compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics.

For Burroughs, 35, it might be his last match. Unfortunately, a Penn State fan heckled Burroughs as he was walking through the Bryce Jordan Center tunnel. Plenty of people cheered Burroughs as well.

Nolf
is coached by another man Penn State fans know quite well: Bo Nickal. Nickal and Nolf were teammates in college. Now, the former is a budding UFC star and the latter is on the verge of making it to the biggest stage in amateur wrestling.
