New Jersey DE Places Penn State in His Top 7; Visiting This Weekend

New Jersey has always been a hotbed for Penn State football recruiting.

In its Class of 2025, two players from the Garden State have given verbal commitments to the PSU in OL Michael Troutman III (Wayne, New Jersey) and LB D.J. McClary (Jersey City).

On Wednesday, a talented 3-star defensive end from New Jersey announced that Penn State made his list of top seven schools.

2025 3-star defensive end Jayden Loftin (Somerville, New Jersey) released a top seven of Penn State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Syracuse, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

More importantly for the Penn State, Loftin also announced that he would be taking one of his official visits to State College.

Loftin’s Official Visits:
West Virginia: May 31-June 2.
Tennessee: June 7-9.
Minnesota: June 14-16.
Penn State: June 21-23.

Loftin made a recent unofficial visit to PSU and gave this description of it to Dylan Callaghan-Croley from Happy Valley Insider- “My Visit was amazing,” said Loftin. “I had a great time connecting with coaches and seeing what Penn State football was all about. What really stood out to me was the family aspect that they had there. Everyone was so close with each other, and I loved that.”

Loftin is being recruited by head coach James Franklin, DC Tom Allen and DL coach Deion Barnes.

Loftin was able to talk with all three on the visit.

It’s also interesting that Loftin will be making a return visit to PSU this weekend for their Spring Game.

PSU appears to be in good position for Loftin, but a lot will depend on his upcoming official visits.

PSU has received 11 commitments for their Class of 2025 but are still looking for its first defensive end.
