University Park— Penn State wrestling’s Terrell Barraclough (174 pounds) and Lucas Cochran (heavyweight) both were thrown into intense situations Monday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Barraclough, who has also been used at 165, wrested in place of Carter Starocci, the top-ranked at 174.
Barraclough took care of business, beating No. 13 Jackson Turley, 4-3.
Later, Cochran— who’s usual weight class is 197– wrestled Yara Slavikouski, the No. 8 heavyweight in the country, in place of No. 1 Greg Kerkvliet. Cochran won and won convincingly, 8-3.
Both spoke with media after the match along with coach Cael Sanderson.
