Indianapolis— To quote the legendary Ice Cube, Thursday was a “good day” for Penn State DE Chop Robinson.
First, he weighed in at 254 pounds, which should erase some doubts about his size.
Then, he met his goals for the 40-yard dash at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Robinson said at his combine presser that he wanted to run to 40 in 4.4 seconds or faster. He clocked in unofficially at 4.49, and officially at 4.48, which is the fastest of any end at the combine thus far.
Per NFL Network’s Rich Eisen, Chop is the second player of the past 20 years to run a sub-4.5 and also broad jump at least 10.5-feet while being more than 250 pounds. Robinson’s broad jump was 10 feet, eight inches.
Edge rusher @PennStateFball @chopyoungbull Robinson is only the 2nd player in the last 20 Combines to run sub-4.5 and broad jump at least 10.5-feet after weighing in 250+ pounds.
