Coming into tonight’s Penn State-Ohio State dual meet, it was obvious what the most-hyped match was: The bout at 141 between No. 2 Beau Bartlett (Penn State) and No. 2 Jesse Mendez (Ohio State).
The matchup lived up to the hype, going into sudden victory.
From there, Bartlett got the win to stay undefeated. The win came in somewhat controversial fashion, with Bartlett’s takedown going to review. But the ruiling stood.
Next week, Bartlett has a projected mega matchup with No. 1 Real Woods.
As a team, Penn State leads Ohio State, 13-3, through five matches. The second half of the dual meet will begin at 165 pounds, with Penn State’s Mitchell Mesenbrink, ranked No. 7, going against Ohio State’s Bryce Hepner. As expected, it’s looking pretty good for Penn State overall.
