It doesn’t take advanced analytics to know that Penn State pounded Maryland Saturday.

The 51-15 final score explains that well, no?

But analytics from Pro Football Focus provide a deeper look into a game.

It also gives fans the chance to argue the site’s credibility due to its grades, a chance which they take frequently.

Here’s how Penn State’s offensive and defensive players graded out Saturday.

THE PENN STATE OFFENSE

Twenty-four players got time for Penn State Saturday, and QB Drew Allar was the king.

This is the second straight week Allar’s been Penn State’s highest-graded offensive player.

At Ohio State Oct. 21, he was the team’s 16th-highest-graded player of 17.

Allar’s traditional stats stack up, too. He went 25-34 for 240 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
