Penn State Recruiting: PSU Finalist for 4-Star ’24 OL William Satterwhite

In Penn State recruiting news, William Satterwhite, the top-rated interior offensive lineman in Ohio from the ’24 Class, has Penn State in his top nine, he tweeted Thursday afternoon.

Penn State is a finalist along with Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan and Michigan State for the 6-foot-5, 300-pounder from Akron’s Archbishop Hoven High School.

PSU offered Satterwhite a four-star, last November. He’s visited Penn State more than once, the most recent coming April 15 when the school had its annual Blue-White spring game.

Along with his finalists, Satterwhite has offers from schools such as Colorado, Duke, Florida, Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Minnesota, Missouri, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Nittany Sports Now spoke with Satterwhite in January ahead of his visit to one of the school’s junior day events.

Something that stands out to the Akron native about Penn State is its famous uniforms.

“One of the biggest things that initially drew me to Penn State was their jersey concept,” Satterwhite told NSN. “There’s nothing flashy about it, and there’s no last names on the jerseys, and that signifies no individuals, and it’s all about one unit. That is unique and is something that stood out to me about Penn State.”

Satterwhite also told Nittany Sports Now that he was planning on deciding before the beginning of his senior season, which is still a few months away.

It’s been another excellent recruiting cycle for Penn State offensive line coach Phil Trautwein. After the ’23 cycle, in which Trautwein landed Penn State’s two highest-rated commits at any position– high-end four-stars J’Ven Williams and Alex Birchmeier– four of Penn State’s 13 ’24 commits are offensive linemen. A fifth, Caleb Brewer– a three-star who played with Williams at Wyomissing near Reading and has one year left- is listed as an ATH but projects to play on either the offensive or defensive line.
