3-Star DB Axavier Bridges-Brooks ‘Can’t Wait to Come Back’ to Penn State

Beaver Stadium -- David Hague

Penn State target Axavier Bridges-Brooks comes from a small town: Keyser, West Virginia, with a population of less than 5,000.

Bridges-Brooks currently plays high school football at Rock Creek Christian Academy in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Wherever he decides to play college football, it’s probably going to be somewhere big.

Bridges-Brooks is a ‘25 6-foot-3, 185-pound is a three-star recruit (per Rivals.com) with seven Division 1 offers: Boston College, Indiana, Maryland, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, in addition to Penn State, which offered him a little more than a week before he visited the school’s annual Blue-White Game April 15.

Bridges-Brooks told Nittany Sports Now via Twitter direct message that the coaches and staff that he’s gotten to know at Penn State have been “so nice and caring.”

“I know other places aren’t going to be as caring about building a relationship with their prospects as much as Penn State is,” Bridges-Brooks said. “It shows that it’s their number 1 priority in the recruitment game.”

As of now, Bridges-Brooks would rank Penn State No. 2 amongst the schools he’s visited, behind only Michigan, which hasn’t offered him yet.

As a player, Bridges-Brooks describes himself as a “ball hawk DB who is not afraid to come down and make a hit.”

He finished last season with two interceptions, seven pass breakups, a fumble recovery and 35 total tackles.

“I would also say that I’m a smart player and take the down and distances very seriously,” he said.

The Penn State coach that Bridges-Brooks has been in contact with the most is assistant recruiting coordinator Rashad Elby. Bridges-Brooks doesn’t have another visit date planned for Penn State, but he wants to return.

“I can’t wait to come back,” he said.

PSU currently has three commitments in its ‘25 class; four-star OT Jaelyne Matthews (Toms River, NJ), four-star RB Kiandrea Barker (Houston, Texas) and three-star safety Omari Gaines (Newark, NJ).
