Penn State Makes Top 10 For Elite Freshman Malachi Toney

Malachi Toney is only a freshman, but that hasn’t stopped him from getting a jump on his recruitment and making some early decisions.

The dynamic wide receiver from American Heritage High School in Miami, Florida has taken a look at his offer list and declared a Top 10.

Toney (5’10”, 173-pounds) has announced ten schools that he plans on focusing on: Penn State, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee.

The 14-year-old drew the attention of and received scholarship offers from these programs after an impressive freshman season in which he caught 35 passes for 621 yards and 8 touchdowns. These numbers are even more impressive when you consider that Toney played this past season with Ohio State commitment Brandon Innis and Miami commit Mark Fletcher.

Penn State was one of the first programs to pursue Toney as JaJuan Seider and James Franklin offered him a scholarship prior to his freshman season, back on August 29th.
