Penn State scored first in its Rose Bowl game against Utah and is tied at seven in the second quarter.
True freshman RB Nick Singleton scored his 11th touchdown of the season on a five-yard run out of the T-formation, capping an 11-play, 82-yard scoring drive that took 4:51.
Before that, Penn State got the ball on a big-time interception by cornerback Kalen King.
With Joey Porter Jr. opting out of the Rose Bowl and focusing on the draft, where he’s likely to be a first-round pick, King is Penn State’s most celebrated cornerback. He proved it with an interception that ended Utah’s second possession. It was King’s third INT of both the season and his Penn State career. It was also his second in as many games. King had a pick late in Penn State’s 35-16 win over Michigan State in the team’s regular-season finale Nov. 26. King is wrapping up his second season with Penn State. He signed with the program as part of the 2021 class, a four-star recruit from Detroit’s Cass Technical Institute.
