Lundy is the second Penn State veteran to crack 1,000 points in a week. Last Wednesday, Lundy’s longtime teammate, Myles Dread, joined the club in Penn State’s loss at Michigan.
Lundy and Dread are two of the five Penn State players to have cracked 1,000. Jalen Pickett, Andrew Funk and Cam Wynter are the others.
Lundy joined the club on what was a happy night for Penn State basketball. Penn State beat Indiana, 85-66, for the largest win it ever had over Indiana.
Lundy ended the game with 25 points, which puts him at 1,004. Penn State tied a program record— set in this season’s opener against Winthrop— with 18 3-pointers. Lundy was responsible for seven of those, shooting 7-12 from 3 and 9-17 from the field overall. It was a well-deserved night of glory for Lundy.
The Philly product has been with Penn State’s program since the 2019-20 season, when the team went 21-10 but was robbed of an NCAA Tournament bid thanks to COVID-19. Lundy hung in there through coach Pat Chambers’s unexpected and controversial resignation in the fall of 2020, and played threw a rough subsequent campaign, where the team finished 11-14 under interim coach Jim Ferry.
When Penn State’s current coach, Micah Shrewsberry, became the man in Happy Valley, Lundy stayed with the program instead of transferring out, which several players did. He was a leader on Shrewsberry’s first Penn State team last season and helped it to a 14-17 record which could have been a lot worse. This season, Seth Lundy is a leader on a squad that could well be going dancing in March.
