On Sunday, the newest AP college football poll came out and Penn State came in at number nine. Penn State dropped down one spot after being idle this week as it already completes its regular season.
The top three teams remain the same in the polls with Georgia at number one, Michigan at number two, and TCU staying at number three despite its 31-28 overtime loss in the Big 12 championship game to No. 11 Kansas State. Ohio State moved ahead one spot to number four with USC losing the Pac-12 championship to Utah who is now in line to go to back-to-back Rose Bowls. Three SEC schools occupy the top six as Alabama moved up to number five, and Tennessee moved up to number six.
Utah has jumped five spots to number seven in the polls, while USC dropped four spots to number eight.
Penn State and ACC Champion Clemson round out the top ten of the AP Poll.
With USC’s loss in the Pac-12 championship game, all signs point to Ohio State being an at-large bid for the College football playoff which means Penn State will be taking on Utah in the Rose Bowl.
