Four-Star 2024 Pennsylvania RB Tre McCloud Has Penn State in his Top Eight

Penn State Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin November 12, 2022 David Hague/NSN

Tre McCloud, a 2024 four-star athlete out of Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pennsylvania, has narrowed his school choice down to eight, and Penn State made his list.

Penn State is in the running along with Cincinnati, Maryland, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Pitt, Syracuse, and Texas A&M. McCloud (5-foot-10, 195-pounds) is the number eight player in Pennsylvania, the No. 27 running back, and the No. 318 player nationally, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

On3 Consensus Rankings has McCloud as the number nine player in Pennsylvania, the No. 31 running back, and the No. 320 ranked player nationally.

Penn State extended its offer to McCloud in January and made an unofficial visit to Penn State in September for its game against Ohio.

In the eight games listed for Cheltenham this past season, he rushed for 936 yards on 87 carries (10.8 yards per carry) and six touchdowns on the ground.

On his tape, McCloud shows a surprising combination of speed and physicality and plays bigger than his frame suggests. He is a one-cut runner that can fit in a zone-blocking scheme, or he can fit in a power run scheme.

Penn State has only one commit in the 2024 recruiting cycle, Cooper Cousins of McDowell High School in Erie, Pennsylvania.
