With Class of 2024 four-star edge rusher Jaylen Harvey taking back-to-back to Penn State, Brian Dohn, Leading Recruiting Analyst from 247Sports has given the talented pass rusher a Crystal Ball prediction to Penn State.
Harvey is a 6-foot-2, 225-pound athlete who is from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He is the number eight player in Maryland, the No. 21 edge, and the No. 263 player nationally, according to 247Sports Composite ratings. He has gotten offers from Boston College, Buffalo, Indiana, Kentucky, Liberty, Louisville, Maryland, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and West Virginia.
Harvey visited Penn State last week for the “White Out” game against Minnesota and will visit Penn State for the “Stripe Out” game against Ohio State on Saturday.
Penn State made Harvey an offer in April, made a visit to the campus over the summer, and reportedly enjoyed his time on campus. Watching fellow Maryland native Chop Robinson is having at Penn State after transferring from Maryland is raising the stock of Penn State in Harvey’s recruitment reportedly as well.
Harvey spoke to Tyler Calvaruso of Lions247 over the summer and talked about his recruitment process with Penn State.
“Ever since they offered me, they’ve been keeping in touch with me,” Harvey said. “All the coaches that work with the D-Line talk to me. And my man coach Ty (Howle), Coach Franklin, I really like what he’s doing with the programs and the players.”
Penn State would like to have Harvey be the first defensive recruit added to the 2024 recruiting cycle.
