On Tuesday, the tip-off time and the broadcast information were announced for the Penn State men’s basketball game against Clemson in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. The broadcast will take place on Nov. 29 at Littlejohn Coliseum at 7 pm and will be aired on ESPNU.
The two teams have not met since the 2005 Big Ten-ACC Challenge when Clemson defeated Penn State 96-88 at the Bryce Jordan Center. Clemson leads the all-time series, 3-1.
Clemson finished 17- 16 last season with an 8-12 record in ACC play, finishing tenth out of 15 teams in the conference under Brad Brownell, who is in his thirteenth season coaching at Clemson.
Penn State finished 14-17 last season with a 7-13 record in conference play, finished tied for tenth in the Big Ten.
Penn State has an 11-10 record in the Big Ten-ACC challenge, while Clemson has a 12-10 record in the Big-10 ACC challenge, with a 6-5 record at home.
Clemson returns their two leading scorers from last season in power forward PJ Hill and shooting guard Al-Amir Dawes. Hunter Tyson is Clemson’s leading returning rebounder from last season, averaging 5.8 rebounds per game. Guard Nick Honor is also back, who led the Tigers in assists a season ago. Hill, who should be healthy after having knee surgery, also led the Tigers in Blocks.
This should be a fun matchup between two teams that want to break into the top half of their respective conferences.
