Here is a breakdown of the Class of 2023 high school football players who are taking official visits to Penn State this weekend.
KAVEION KEYS
Keys (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) is a four-star linebacker/receiver from Varina High School in Richmond, Virginia.
He visited North Carolina the first weekend of June and Virginia Tech June 17-19. He plans to take one to Florida. Penn State has three players from Virginia committed in its 2023 class.
Only the school’s home state of Pennsylvania has produced more Penn State 2023 commits.
DANIEL HARRIS
Harris is a four-star cornerback from Gulliver Prep in Pinecrest, Florida. He has Penn State in his top 10 along with Cincinnati, Georgia, Jackson State, Ohio State, Miami, Michigan, Syracuse, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Harris visited Ohio State June 10-12.
JAMEIAL LYONS
Lyons committed to Penn State in April.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound EDGE from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia is a four-star recruit, and one of two EDGE commits in Penn State’s 2023 class, with Tomarrion Parker joining him earlier this week.
CAM SELDON
Seldon, a four-star receiver from Northumberland High School in Heathsville, Virginia, is 6-foot-2, 220 pounds and had a 247Sports crystal ball prediction to Penn State by Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong back in February.
Penn State has four-star receiver Ejani Shakir and three-star receiver Yazeed Haynes committed to its 2023 class.
CARMELO TAYLOR
Taylor (6-foot, 155 pounds) is a three-star according to 247Sports’ site rankings. Penn State offered him May 27, and he also has offers from Liberty, Maryland, Old Dominion, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
TJ METCALF
Metcalf is a three-star from Pinson Valley High School in Alabama. 247’s lone crystal ball prediction for Metcalf, placed by Arkansas Insider Danny West, has him picking Arkansas.
Penn State is targeting another safety from Alabama, Selma High School’s DaKaari Nelson. Nelson is announcing his commitment this afternoon.
