DaKaari Nelson (2023), a four-star safety from Selma High School in Selma, Alabama, is committing tomorrow afternoon at 2, he announced via Twitter Friday evening.
Penn State is in Nelson’s top six, along with Auburn, Clemson, Kentucky, Oregon and Tennessee. He went on his official visit during the second weekend of June, and told Nittany Sports Now shortly after that Penn State was his “No. 1 school.”
Penn State offered Nelson last August, and he first visited Beaver Stadium in late November, watching Penn State’s Senior Day win over Rutgers. When he took his official visit, Nelson had a chance to see more of Penn State and State College than just Beaver Stadium and the team’s football facilities.
“Every corner you turn, you see something about Nittany Lions or Penn State,” Nelson said. “I love that a lot.”
At 6:13 Friday, Lions247 Staff Writer Taylor Calvaruso placed a crystal ball prediction for Nelson to pick Penn State. Should he pick Penn StateF Nelson would would be Penn State’s second safety to commit in the 2023 class, with four-star Conrad Hussey being the first.
Nelson would also be Penn State’s second commit from the state of Alabama in less than a week, with four-star EDGE Tomarrion Parker (Central Phenix City High School), committing Tuesday.
Note: Nelson will be committing at 3 p.m. EST, which was not clarified in the original version of this article.
