Class of 2024 recruit Rico Scott out of Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pa has received an offer from Penn State.
Scott is a 6-foot, 185-pound wide receiver that has great speed, good hands, and knows the route tree well for such a young player that has been fortunate to play with and learn from two future FBS school recruits who just happens to play his position.
As the number three wide receiver for the Crusaders last season, he hauled in 25 passes for 538 yards and nine touchdowns as Bishop McDevitt advanced to the PIAA Class-4A state championship game in 2021. Scott played alongside receivers Mario Easterly, who committed to Old Dominion, as well as Kamil Foster who is undecided but may be joining Easterly at ODU.
Scott will now be the number one target of Stone Saunders who earned a spot on the 2021 Max Preps Freshman All-America Team. Scouts project Scott to be a four- or five-star recruit as he and Stephens will have the opportunity to be the best quarterback-wide receiver duo in the state of Pennsylvania and quite possibly the country in the future.
Scott has not yet been rated by Rivals or 247. He also has offers from Pitt, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Connecticut, Kent State, and Bowling Green.
Penn State has just one commit in the recruiting class of 2024, Erie tackle Cooper Cousins.
