His final decision won’t be made any time in the near future, but Penn State stayed in the running for one of the top juniors in not only Pennsylvania, but the entire country.
2023 4-star offensive tackle Jven Williams from Wyomissing, Pennsylvania has narrowed his extensive list of offers down to a top seven, and it includes Penn State. On Saturday, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman announced a top seven of Penn State, Pitt, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss and Rutgers. Other schools that previously offered Williams include Boston College, UConn, Houston, Kentucky, Maryland, South Carolina, Temple, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Washington and West Virginia.
Nittany Sports Now messaged Williams and got this reaction about taking the first step in eventually deciding on a college destination.
“They all recruited me amazingly well,” said Williams. “They did the little things that mattered in recruiting. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
James Franklin and the Nittany Lions extended Williams an offer back on September 25, when he made an unofficial visit to attend the Villanova game. He followed that up with another visit to Happy Valley on December 12.
Williams made his latest unofficial last weekend to Pitt and tells NSN that he plans on making more upcoming unofficial visits this month, including likely stops at Penn State, Rutgers, Michigan and Michigan State. Following that, he plans on deciding on five schools for his official visits.
