Some thought it would be Nashville. Others thought Las Vegas. People who didn’t expect Penn State to play their bowl game in either of those locations might have forecasted the Nittany Lions playing in New York in the Pinstripe Bowl.
Turns out it’s going to be sunny Tampa Bay, Florida in the Outback Bowl.

Based on projections, it didn’t look like Penn State would be playing in Tampa, Florida, on New Year’s Day. Turns out, those projections were wrong as the Nittany Lions will take on the Arkansas Razorbacks, who are ranked No. 21 in the latest College Football Playoff poll.
It will be Penn State’s fifth appearance in the Outback Bowl. The Nittany Lions are 3-1, with wins over Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee and a loss to Florida. It will also be the first meeting ever between the Nittany Lions and Razorbacks. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. EST on January 1st.
