Penn State in the NFL

Several former PSU stars come up big in NFL exhibition games

Photo by Denver Broncos: KJ Hamler

The NFL exhibition season is in full swing, and we’ll be keeping tabs on Penn State products all season long. Saturday was a good day for several former Nittany Lions.

Let’s start with KJ Hamler hauling in an 80-yard TD bomb from Drew Lock for the Broncos in a 33-6 win over the Vikings. Hamler also caught another pass for 25 yards and carried one time for 5 yards.

Next up is Jesse James with a cool highlight as he catches a 30-yard pass from Justin Fields wide open and backpedals into the end zone. You don’t see this all that often. James caught two passes for 38 yards in the Bears’ 20-13 win over the Dolphins.

The Bears-Dolphins game featured a matchup of two of the best tight ends in Penn State history as James was on one side and Mike Gesicki was with the Dolphins.

Gesicki made this nice 50-yards grab from Tua Tagovailoa and finished with two catches for 54 yards.

Here’s a look at Micah Parsons helping force a fumble in the Cowboys’ 19-16 loss to the Cardinals late Friday night. Parsons had four tackles (two solo).

Oh, and if you haven’t seen the Parsons funny clip from “Hard Knocks” about wanting to play more in the Cowboys’ exhibition opener, here it is. Parsons is an absolute baller who just wanted to get back on the field. But the hilarious part comes when he’s sitting on the bench figuring out what the rest of the night is gonna look like.
