Jayson Oweh’s brother, Otega, receives PSU basketball offer

As former Penn State football player Jayson Oweh waits to hear his name called in next month’s NFL draft — most likely in the first round — his younger brother now has the option of coming to PSU to make his own mark in a different sport.

Otega Oweh (6-4, 180), a 4-star shooting guard from Blair Academy in New Jersey, received a scholarship offer over the weekend from Penn State.

Oweh has some offers from big programs, including Georgetown, St. John’s, Virginia Tech and Nebraska, but so far his offer sheet doesn’t include many powerhouse programs. That could benefit Penn State, plus the fact that his brother went to the school.

Oweh is a member of the Team Final basketball program. Penn State also has an offer out to another member of that team, 4-star Dereck Lively II, a 7-foot-1 big man who’s rated the No. 5 center in the nation by 247Sports. Lively is from Bellefonte and plays for Westtown School. He has a massive offer sheet filled with some of the top programs in the country.
