PSU basketball opener canceled because of COVID

Penn State’s season opener against Drexel scheduled for Wednesday afternoon has been canceled, first according to this report Tuesday and then confirmed by Penn State.

This confirmation came from PSU:

The Penn State men’s basketball season opener against Drexel Wednesday has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

It’s unclear if the COVID issue is from the Penn State side or the Drexel side.

Rothstein also reported that PSU’s game Saturday against VMI remains on schedule to be played.
