UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Matt Campbell era at Penn State got underway in a big way at West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium with 108,849 fans on hand for his debut.
That total would’ve ranked third in total attendance per game in 2025 behind only the white out game against Oregon and James Franklin’s last win with the Nittany Lions against Villanova.
Given the ongoing construction and new-look Penn State program, nearly every section was filled which bodes well for belief in what Campbell has in store with the Nittany Lions.
Currently, with the adjustments due to construction, West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium is the largest capacity wise in college football.
Fans were treated to a Koby Howard coming out party through three quarters as the young wideout hauled in six passes for 176 yards and a touchdown.
