Two Penn State players in one day have announced that they’re entering the transfer portal not long after indicating that they were staying in Happy Valley.
The first to do so was safety DeJuan Lane.
Penn State Defender Has Change of Heart, Plans To Enter Transfer Portal
Now, Lane’s classmate, Tyseer Denmark, will enter the portal, per Pete Nakos of On3Sports.
Just two days prior, Denmark sent this tweet:
“They lost count tryna count me out, lets do it nittany nation #weback #weare 🦁🦁🦁.”

By late Tuesday afternoon, Denmark had deleted the tweet, and soon after, word broke that he had entered the portal.
It’s hard to know the exact reason for this, but it’s worth noting that, since Sunday, Penn State has added Iowa State’s two leading receivers from last season: Brett Eskildsen (526 yards) and Chase Sowell (500 yards).
It’s also hard to know if any other Penn State players who had reaffirmed their commitment will end up in the transfer portal, but it’d be hard to blame Penn State fans for feeling uneasy.
One player who reaffirmed their commitment was fellow receiver Koby Howard.
Talented Freshman Wide Receiver Returning to Penn State In 2026
Denmark came to Penn State as a three-star recruit from in-state Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia), having previously been committed to Oregon.
He then redshirted his freshman season at Penn State, but caught his first touchdown on PSU’s last regular-season play of 2024 against Maryland.
As 2025 turned into a massive disappointment for Penn State, fans, media and, as reveled on the leaked audio of AD Pat Kraft, people within the program wondered why Denmark wasn’t being used more.
He ended the year with two catches— both in the team’s opener against Nevada— and only played two snaps in the team’s Pinstripe Bowl win over Clemson.
After the Pinstripe Bowl, Denmark was captured leaving the field as Penn State was celebrating, which launched speculation about his future.
Denmark will have three seasons of eligibility left.
