The 2025-2026 Penn State men’s basketball team currently sits at 9-11 with a Big Ten record of 0-9.
Fans can’t say they weren’t warned about the inevitable growing pains this young squad will endure this year, especially in a loaded, veteran Big 10 Conference.
Since the offseason, coach Mike Rhoades reminded us over and over again there will be ups and downs with this group of eight freshmen, two sophomores, two juniors and one lone senior.
As a matter of fact, per RotoWire, Penn State has the youngest Power Five Conference roster in America based on each of the site’s Power Five rankings of average age from oldest to youngest for each Power Five Conference in America (Big 10, Big 12, ACC, Big East, SEC).
Penn State would come in at No. 1 with an average team roster age of 18.85.
The average age of these Top-10 teams is (19.22) with an overall average record of (12-8) and an average conference record of (3-5).
Penn State basketball next plays this Thursday, January 29 against the No. 10 youngest team in America, the Northwestern Wildcats.
Tip-off is at 8:00 P.M. inside the Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Illinois.
