Penn State tight end Luke Reynolds is expected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, sources confirmed to On3 Sports, as the former five-star prospect looks for a new opportunity following his sophomore season in Happy Valley.
Reynolds, a top-100 recruit in the 2024 class, arrived at Penn State with significant expectations after starring at Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, Connecticut from the Westford, Massachusetts native. Ranked No. 62 overall in the Rivals Industry Ranking, Reynolds was viewed as a long-term building block at the tight end position for the Nittany Lions.
Across two seasons, Reynolds appeared in a rotational role, totaling 35 receptions for 368 yards and one touchdown. His most productive campaign came in 2025, when he recorded 26 catches for 257 yards while carving out a defined role in the offense.
While his receiving numbers were modest, Reynolds made notable strides as a blocker. According to Pro Football Focus, he posted a 73.8 pass-blocking grade in 2025, emerging as one of Penn State’s most reliable tight ends in pass protection. His overall offensive grade for the season checked in at 62.1, reflecting steady development in a complementary role.
With three years of eligibility remaining, Reynolds will enter the portal seeking a program that can offer a larger offensive role. His blend of size, blocking ability, and untapped receiving upside should generate interest as he looks ahead to the 2026 season.
