Penn State football is among the nation’s leaders with 15 players named to the Shrine Bowl 1000 Monday morning.
The Shrine Bowl 1000 is an annual watch list compiled by the East–West Shrine Bowl organization that highlights the top 1,000 eligible college football players among all four NCAA divisions of football.
The criteria for who is considered are potential prospects for the upcoming Shrine Bowl and the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft class.
The 15 Nittany Lions on the Shrine Bowl 1000 are the following:
QB Drew Allar
RB Nicholas Singleton
RB Kaytron Allen
WR Trebor Pena
WR Devonte Ross
OL Drew Shelton
OL Vega Ioane
OL Nick Dawkins
DL Dani Dennis-Sutton
DL Zane Durant
LB Amare Campbell
LB Tony Rojas
CB Elliott Washington II
CB AJ Harris
DB Zakee Wheatley
The Shrine Bowl 1000 plays a critical role in the scouting process. The evaluation made through various scouts with the NFL and collegiate personnel give all sides a key measuring stick.
The East-West Shrine Bowl will take place at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas on Jan. 27, 2026.
East-West Shrine Bowl participants will be coached by NFL coaches, with access to NFL-level resources, facilities, player-friendly schedules, and opportunities at the highest level to network.
Last year, Penn State cornerback Jalen Kimber and offensive lineman Sal Wormley were named as participants of the 2025 East-West Shrine game; both are on NFL rosters entering training camp this summer as Kimber is with the Tennessee Titans and Wormley is with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
