The White Out Stays at Night: Details For Penn State Footballโ€™s Spectacle Revealed

Penn State fans are pumped up for the College Football Playoff.

Penn State footballโ€™s 2025 White Out opponent has been setโ€ฆ and it will be a night game.

The program announced that the Sept. 27 game against Oregon will be โ€œWhite Out Night.โ€

This shouldnโ€™t surprise anybody.

With Ohio State being a road game this season and Michigan not on the schedule, Oregon is, far an away, the most marquee opponent coming to Happy Valley this season. Oregon is the reigning Big Ten championโ€” beating Penn State to win that titleโ€” and entered the College Football Playoff as the top-ranked and only unbeaten team in the country.

Oregon figures to be a top 10 team at the beginning of 2025 as well. Penn Stateโ€™s first three opponentsโ€” Nevada, FIU and Villanovaโ€” might beat Penn Stateโ€ฆ if they combine rosters. Otherwise, thereโ€™s no chance. Oregon has a tougher first three games, going against Montana State, Oklahoma State and Northwestern.

Nonetheless, Oregon should be heavy favorites in all three, so thereโ€™s no reason the two teams shouldnโ€™t be undefeated and in the Top 10โ€“ if not the Top 5โ€“ when Oregon comes to University Park.

IT STAYS AT NIGHT

The biggest news about all this for some Penn State fans will be that the Oregon game will be at 7:30 on NBC.

Penn Stateโ€™s White Outs work best at night. Thatโ€™s why there hasnโ€™t been a daytime White Outs since the Michigan game in 2015, which Penn State lost.

So, yes, a lot of people will be relieved about this.

OTHER TIMES

Some other game times have been announced for Penn Stateโ€™s home schedule.

They are: Nevada (3:30 on CBS Aug. 30), FIU (noon on the Big Ten Network), Villanova (3:30 on FS1) and Northwestern, which will either be at noon, 3:30 or 4 on a network to be determined.
