Penn State footballโ€™s 2025 schedule may have gotten a little tougher.

On Wednesday, sports talk radio host Colin Cowherd of Fox Sports and The Volume reported that transfer quarterback Nico Iamaleava is transferring from the SEC to the Big Ten. Cowherd reported that Iamaleava is leaving Tennessee for UCLA.

โ€œFamily still claims itโ€™s not about the (money), itโ€™s about the Tennessee offense,โ€ Cowherd posted on social media.ย

Itโ€™s not yet known how much NIL money Iamaleava will earn with his new team, a sticking point in negotiations with Tennessee.

Penn State will play Iamaleava and UCLA Oct. 4 at the Rose Bowl.ย

Iamaleava was set to earn over $2 million at Tennessee, but reportedly wanted $4 million to play his junior season. Tennessee eventually parted ways with Iamaleava and representation, not wanting to deal with the situation anymore. Speculation waivered that he could land at North Carolina or Tulane but was quickly refuted by recruiting platforms this week.

A native of Long Beach, California, Iamaleava threw for 2,616 yards, 19 touchdowns, and earned a 70.5 QB rating. Iamaleave guided the Vols to the College Football Playoff before losing to eventual national champion Ohio State. He threw for less than 200 yards in eight of his 13 games and five in a row near the state of the season.ย

PSU beat UCLA 27-11 at Beaver Stadium October 5 in front of the 10th largest crowd (110,047) in Penn State history.
