Former Penn State linebacker Kobe King has heard his name called at the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Minnesota Vikings selected King in the sixth round of the draft from Green Bay, Wisconsin. King becomes the 201st player selected this year.
A redshirt junior from Detroit, Michigan, King was selected Second Team All-Big Ten by coaches and media during his final season at Penn State.
The 6-foot-1, 248-pound middle linebacker started all 16 games for PSU, including the Big Ten Championship, Fiesta Bowl, and Orange Bowl in the College Football Playoff. He totaled 97 tackles (53 solo), 8.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks.ย
A defensive captain, King finished 10th in the Big Ten in tackles, including a season-best 10 against Oregon on Dec. 7.ย
King played four seasons at Penn State, totaling 200 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. He added four pass breakups and four passes defended, including three of each during his redshirt freshman season.ย
King started 11 of the 13 games he played as a redshirt sophomore and 27 total. One of his best games came at Minessota this season, contributing nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.ย
The 2025 NFL Draft concludes Saturday with the 4th-7th rounds.ย
