Philadelphiaโย Penn State wrestling star Luke Lilledahl wonโt end his true freshman season with a national title.
The No. 1 seed at 125 pounds fell in his quarterfinal bout with Lehighโs Sheldon Seymour, seeded eight, 3-2 in a second tiebreaker.
Seymour got the deciding point due to having 14 seconds of riding time.
Although Lilledahlโs title dreams are on hold for nowโ as are Penn Stateโs dreams of going through the whole tournament without losing a match after going 20-0 Thursdayโ the true freshman still has a lot to wrestle for.
He has a chance to become an All-American, and to do that, he has to place in the top eight.
Whatever happens, itโs been a great year for Lilledahl, who won the Big Ten Championship and stunned Purdueโs Matt Ramos, who came in No. 1 in the country.
