Penn State Wrestling Gets 4 No. 1s in NCAA Tournament

The brackets were released Wednesday evening and Penn State wrestling earned four top-seeds for next week’s NCAA Tournament in Philadelphia.

Luke Lilledahl (125), Tyler Kasak (157), Mitchell Mesenbrink (165), and Carter Starocci (184) all secured the No. 1 spot at their respective weights. Beau Bartlett (141) and Levi Haines (174) both got the No. 2 seed, while Shayne Van Ness (149) and Greg Kerkvliet (285) both took 3-seeds.

Josh Barr, who had to injury default out of the Big Ten Tournament, took the fourth seed at 197 pounds.

Braeden Davis is the eighth seed at 133.

Other No. 1 seeds include Illinois’ Lucas Byrd (133), Nebraska’s Brock Hardy (141), Virginia Tech’s Caleb Henson (149), Missouri’s Keegan O’Toole (174), Michigan’s Jacob Cardenas (197), and Minnesota’s Gable Steveson (285).
