INDIANAPOLIS— Penn State tight end Tyler Warren has reportedly met with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Per ML Football, Warren had a formal meeting with the Steelers at this week’s NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
To be clear, this does not by any stretch of the imagination mean that the Steelers will draft Warren.
In fact, there virtually no chance that this happens. Not only is Warren, who earned last year’s John Mackey Award winner, presented annually to the nation’s top tight end, likely to be gone by the time the Steelers pick at No. 21, the Steelers aren’t thought to be a team in need of a tight end.
The team has another Penn Stater in Pat Freiermuth (653 yards, seven touchdowns on 65 receptions in 2024) and also has Darnell Washington.

Warren set Penn State tight end records for single-season receptions (104) and receiving yards (1,233) and also broke an overall Penn State record with 19 career receiving touchdowns. Warren finished his Penn State career with 153 catches for 1,839 yards and showcased his versatility with 224 rushing yards, six rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown in 56 games. Warren finished seventh in the 2024 Heisman voting.
The NFL Draft begins at Lambeau Field from Thursday, April 24.
