On Saturday, Penn State forfeited a 13-point lead to Washington for its seventh consecutive loss. Late-game execution was the topic of discussion postgame, as Mike Rhoades opted not to use his last timeout before the final shot.

“What we wanted to do was push it hard, so they didn’t have to set their defense,” Rhoades said.

“… In hindsight could’ve called a timeout to settle it, should’ve called a timeout to settle it, but Ace (Baldwin Jr.) was doing a good job off of ball screens. We had them scrambling a little bit, but we just didn’t get an edge enough to go. But he’s (Baldwin Jr.) the guy we want to have the ball in space, and we did.”
