Penn State QB Drew Allar is among the early Heisman favorites for the 2025 season.
Allar, who is coming back for his final season of eligibility, is tied for the fifth-best odds at 16/1 per BetOnline.
There are a ย four players tied with him.
They are: Florida QB DJ Lagway, Washington State QB John Mateer, South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers and Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava. It certainly is a QB-dominated sport and Heisman field. It was different this past season, when Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter won the Heisman. But Hunter was just the second non-QB to win it since 2016. Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith (2020) is the other.
THE OTHER GUYS
So who are the guys with better Heisman odds than Allar, the favorite is Texas QB Arch Manning (6-1). Manning, a former five-star recruit, figures to start now that Quinn Ewers is going to the NFL. Behind Manning is another SEC QB: LSUโs Garrett Nussmeier (9/1). Although Brian Kelly and LSU finished a disappointing 9-4, Nussmeier but up big numbers, throwing for 4,052 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, completing 64.2% of his passes. Behind those two is Clemson QB Cade Klubnik (12/1), who led his team to the ACC title this past season. Also at 12/1 is a receiver in Ohio Stateโs Jeremiah Smith, ย who blew everybody away as a true freshman, going for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns on 76 receptions, one of the leading men on Ohio Stateโs national championship team.

So, what are Allarโs chances of winning or coming close to the Heisman? Well, he was a five-star like Manning, has a big arm like Nussmeier and led his team to the Playoff like Klubnik. So, why not?
