Former Penn State Assistant Fired

Maryland has fired former offensive coordinator and Penn State wide receivers coach Josh Gattis, according to Carter Bahns of 247 Sports. Gattis served two years as the Terrapins OC and finished on five-game losing streak, not scoring over 20 points in the final four games.

Gattis coached at Penn State from 2014-2017, developing receivers including Chris Godwin and DaeShean Hamilton.

He won the Broyles Award in 2021 as the OC at Michigan, awarded to college football’s top assistant coach.
