We’ve known for a bit who Penn State wrestling would face during its 2024-25 dual meet season.
Now, we know the dates.
The team opens its dual meet season Nov. 17 against Drexel at Rec Hall, the day after the NWCA All-Star Classic in the same building, where several Penn State stars are competing.
The next Sunday, Penn State is on the road at Army before a two-week dual meet break. That break ends Dec. 8, when Penn State takes on Lehigh in Rec Hall. After that, Penn State hosts Big 12 school Wyoming Dec. 15. Then, the Christmas Holliday happens, and Penn State won’t be back in a traditional dual meet until it takes on Michigan State in Rec Hall Jan. 10. That’s the only dual meet Penn State will have at Rec Hall in January. It then hits the road for Friday matches at Nebraska and Rutgers before the home duals that perhaps excite fans the most.
Penn State revealed less than two weeks ago that it would have two dual meets at the Bryce Jordan Center this season.
Many assumed that fellow Big Ten heavyweights Iowa and Michigan would be the opponents for these occasions, and that is indeed the case. Tom Brands and Iowa will wrestle at the BJC Jan. 31 before Sean Bormet and Michigan do the same the following Friday night. Penn State then has a quick turnaround, hosting Maryland at Rec Hall Feb. 9. It has another busy weekend after that, this time with a pair of road dual meets against Ohio State (Feb. 14) and Illinois (February 16).
Penn State ends its regular season with a non-conference dual meet against American Feb. 21.
