UNIVERSITY PARK— Penn State did get to ring its victory bell Saturday afternoon but to be frank, the win left a sour taste in the mouths of many Penn State fans.

Bowling Green, which came in as a five-touchdown underdog, led Penn State 24-20 at the half and didn’t punt until the third quarter.

Although Penn State eventually won, 34-27, the outcome was in doubt until the last five minutes.

There was some good, such as the win and the performances of RB Nicholas Singleton (13 carries, 119 yards, TD, one catch, 14 yards, TD) RB Kaytron Allen (14 carries, 101 yards) and TE Tyler Warren (8 catches, 146 yards, Penn State single-game yardage record for a tight end).

Here’s how social media reacted to Penn State football’s win.
