Savion Hiter is one of, if not the top running back in the Class of 2026.
The 5’11”, 180-pound 5-star recruit from Woodberry Forest School in Woodberry Forest, Virginia is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 1 running and the No. 26 overall player in the Class of 2026.
Last season as a sophomore, Hiter rushed for 1,187 yards and 11 touchdowns, while averaging 7.91 yards per carry. Aside from football, Hiter is also an accomplished member of the track and field team, registering a 6.67 55-meter dash, long jumped 22-6.25, and triple jumped 44-3.5.
On Thursday evening, Hiter reduced his long list of offers down to five programs: Penn State, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Tennessee. Along with those five schools, Hiter also holds offers from Alabama, Arizona, Florida State, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami Florida, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Oregon, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Texas, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
In a recent interview with Rivals.com, Hiter had this to say about what he’s looking for in his next football home, “It’s important for me to be at a school where I’m going to be used and developed as a running back,” said Hiter. “Where I can get my degree but also be prepared for the next level, which Gold willing is the NFL.”

Scouts love Hiter’s combination of strength, explosiveness, short-area quickness, along with his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.
As far as his contact with Penn State, Hiter received his offer back in February of 2023 and made an unofficial visit the following month. In terms of his most recent visits to other programs, Savion was recently in Ann Arbour to visit Michigan and before that, he was at Georgia.
